NCET2 partners with different organizations to allow startups the opportunity to apply and showcase in different events.

ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Universities may submit up to five startups for selection for the showcases
  • The startup must be affiliated with a university
  • All startups that submit may be invited to NCET2 Virtual Startup Pitches to be reviewed and scored by Fortune 500 corporates and NCET2 Startup Development Officers

Due to the recent events surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we are terminating the 2020 Chemical Ventures Conference scheduled for June 2-3 in Wilmington, Delaware. As COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to spread, terminating the event was a necessary precaution to ensure the health and safety of our attendees, speakers, startups, and guests.
 

Submission Deadlines:

  • First submission batch - February 28, 2020
  • Second submission batch - March 27, 2020

Selection dates:

  • First round - March 13, 2020 (first batch companies selected)*
  • Second round - April 17, 2020 (remaining companies selected)

* Submissions not selected in the first round will be automatically re-submitted and included in the second selection round.

Eligibility:

  • Chemistry must comprise an integral part of the startup's technology and business focus
  • Startups do not need to have received prior professional investment but must be actively seeking funding
  • A manager/executive must present to pitch at the event

Submission Requirements:

  • You may also download the form for reference
  • This submission requires that you submit a non-confidential slide deck about your startup. The non-confidential pitch deck should clearly express the use of chemistry and how it is being leveraged into a commercial opportunity

Your non-confidential slide deck should include the following slides in the order below:

  1. Contact slide
  2. Background and overview of technology - how it is being or will be leveraged into a commercial opportunity
  3. Financing plan (pre-$ valuation, amount sought, use of funds, cap table if it exists)
  4. Market (unmet need, size/opportunity for growth, entry or sales plan, barriers to adoption)
  5. Risks (technology, regulatory, reimbursement, market)
  6. Competition (current gold standard, competitors)
  7. Intellectual property strategy, proprietary assets/barriers to others entering the market
  8. Management team description, people (management, board, advisors, inventors)
  9. Possible acquirers/exit strategy


After the selection:

  • You will receive an email from us if you get selected to present
