Nanochon is a company formed to commercialize technology for the repair of cartilage damage in the knee, in young and active patients. Based on 3D printing and bioactive/biomimetic materials for stem cell and vascular growth, the implant device would be patient specific and intended fro surgical implantation into cartilage damage and injuries sustained by young and active patients.
"GW alumnus Dr. Ben Holmes (SEAS, MS, PhD, '16) has been awarded the Best Entrepreneurial Lead among all 20 teams within the Arlington cohort of the National Science Foundation I-Corps program. The goal of the NSF I-Corps program is to foster entrepreneurship that will lead to the commercialization of technology that has been supported previously by NSF-funded research. Ben serves as one of the Entrepreneurial Leads for Team Nanochon along with Principal Investigator Dr. Lijie Grace Zhang, Entrepreneurial Lead Nathan Castro, and Mentor Dick Fogel.
