Dr. Sirman holds a bachelor of engineer in materials and a Ph.D. in ceramic materials from Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine as well as an MBA from the State University of New York. He holds several patents, has received may journal and conference publications as well as co-authored “Nonporous Inorganic Membranes”.

About the speaker: Mark Shaw is Founder and CEO of UltraTech International. UltraTech has developed over 400 environmental products to prevent pollution or responding to spills. Its products are sold through 1,500 distributors throughout 97 countries. Recently, UltraTech has created the Advanced Technology Group to be the bridge between smart people with great technologies and the markets that need those technologies and products. To date it has licensed, incubated and commercialized six disruptive and cutting-edge technologies in various fields, with particular emphasis on nanotechnologies. Mark, with an economics degree as the basis of his education, has started four companies, has over sixty-five patents and is credited with starting the spill containment market back in the early eighties.
